NAME OF YOUR BUSINESS? - Jam HR Consulting Limited WEBSITE ADDRESS? – www.jam-hr.com WHAT DID YOU DO BEFORE YOUR CURRENT BUSINESS? – I started as a French teacher in a local Comprehensive school, before deciding to move into the business world. I worked for ASDA Stores Ltd for 8 years, the highlights being recruiting, training and opening the new ASDA store in Falmouth and transitioning Walmart and ASDA as the People Manager at ASDA Cribbs Causeway. I then joined Bidfood UK, as Head of HR/Group Resourcing Director and looked after 24 sites all over the UK. WHAT MADE YOU START YOUR CURRENT BUSINESS? – I was tired of travelling the UK, jumping on planes (not as glamorous as I thought) and had a young family and wanted to attend sports days and do school runs! I knew there was a market for HR Consultants in my local area to support small businesses with their HR, whose size of business did not warrant in-house HR, but would benefit from an outsourced provider. WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES? – I enjoy running in the fresh air and I also play and teach piano. WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE MOVIE? – A Good Year – a romance drama set in a beautiful chateau and vineyard in Provence. WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE MEAL? – Oh gosh, that’s a difficult question!! I like moules marinieres, salmon, steak and nice sauces. Anything home cooked, with fresh ingredients really. WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE UK HOLIDAY DESTINATION? – Little Haven, Pembrokeshire WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE HOLIDAY DESTINATION ABROAD? – Normandy, France WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE TV PROGRAMME? – I rarely watch TV! YOUR FAVOURITE SONG? – I cannot name one! I am musical and like all genres from classical to today’s pop chart songs! WHAT DO YOU MOST ENJOY ABOUT YOUR BUSINESS? – Helping and supporting businesses with people and employment law issues and knowing I make a difference to small businesses and owners. IF YOU HAD A MAGIC WAND WHAT WOULD YOU CHANGE ABOUT YOUR BUSINESS? Update my website! And probably take on staff. WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN 5 YEARS TIME? I dread to think. Could not have foreseen the events both amazing and less so, of the last 5 years in business! DO YOU HAVE ANY USEFUL TIPS OR IDEAS THAT YOU COULD SHARE WITH THE OTHER CAP MEMBERS? – Be yourself, and believe in yourself that you can achieve what you want to achieve. HOW HAS CAP BUSINESS CLUBS HELPED YOU IN YOUR BUSINESS? – I have recently joined and find the Wednesday morning group so professional and genuinely lovely people too. Exciting times! |
