SPOTLIGHT ON A CAP BUSINESS CLUB MEMBER
Featuring Jason Bolton from Beaufort Financial (Three Counties)
I hope that you enjoy reading and pick up some useful ideas and tips
YOUR NAME? - Jason Bolton
NAME OF YOUR BUSINESS? - Beaufort Financial Planning (Three Counties) Ltd
WEBSITE ADDRESS? – www.beaufortfinancial.co.uk/threecounties
WHAT DID YOU DO BEFORE YOUR CURRENT BUSINESS? – I have been a self-empoloyed financial planner for more years than I care to remember but the last few years were spent advising clients on behalf of a large corporation from their Cheltenham office.
WHAT MADE YOU START YOUR CURRENT BUSINESS? – The desire to be able to provide independent financial advice and thus be in a position for my clients to know that I have their best interests at heart. My clients want informed receommendations based on their circumsatnces and ambitions, and strategies which can be adapted to take advantage of new opportunities. My clients want to know that I am truly independent and not being steered by any particular provider. Beaufort Financial Planning (Three Counties) Ltd was created to do just that.
WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES? – I am a keen golfer and a member at Ross-on-Wye Golf Club where I can often be seen scoiuring through the many trees there trying to find my golf ball!!
WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE MOVIE? – I’ve got two, one that reminds me of when my son’s were younger when we’d all sit on the sofa and laugh away at Monsters Inc and the other is at the opposite end of the spectrum and it’s The Godfather where Brando and Pacino act everybody else off the screen!
WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE MEAL? – That’s easy and it has to be Linguine Pazzeralla which is pasta mixed with King Prawns, artichoke, sun blushed tomatoes and garlic in a cream sauce. They serve it at the Olive Tree in Ledbury and I have it every time we eat there without fail.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE UK HOLIDAY DESTINATION? – Definitely London, over the years we have had several mini breaks there as a family and there is always so much for us all to enjoy. Although the theatre is expensive you can balance that out with lots of free museums with the imperial War Museum being a particular favourite of mine.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE HOLIDAY DESTINATION ABROAD? – It has to be Rome, we took a city break there as a family a couple of years ago and we all absolutely loved it. There is just so much to see and do for adults as well as children and fhe history and architecture are simply mind blowing!
WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE TV PROGRAMME? – I’m a huge sports fan and in particular football so I would say that “Match of the Day” is probably the one TV programme that I watch pretty religiously (unless Chelsea have lost and then I don’t bother!!)
YOUR FAVOURITE SONG? – That’s a really difficult question because I think it changes all of the time depending on what sort of mood I am in. I’ll cheat a bit and pick a single and an album that I am listening to currently and the single is “Mathematics” by Cherry Ghost which is basically Simon Aldred delivering a typically emotional love song. The favourite album at the moment would be “Searching for the Young Soul Rebels” by Dexys Midnight Runners which is something a Northern Sould pastiche but no less brilliant for it.
WHAT DO YOU MOST ENJOY ABOUT YOUR BUSINESS? – by doing the right thing by your clients all of the time it leads to fantastic oucomes for them in terms of improving their lives and the level of job satisfaction I get from seeing a client making the most of their lives backed by the financial advice that I offer is absolutely incredible.
IF YOU HAD A MAGIC WAND WHAT WOULD YOU CHANGE ABOUT YOUR BUSINESS? – I’d definitiely reduce the administrative burden that we face trying to operate on a day to day basis. We are highly regulated and of course that is right but it would be fantastic if there could be less forms to fill in!
WHERE DO YOU SEE YOURSELF IN 5 YEARS TIME? – I’ll still be running Beaufort Financial Planning (Three Counties) Ltd but it will be a much larger business with an office in each of the three counties staffed by highly qualified and knowledgable advisers with several hundred satisfied clients ready to tell their friends about how great it is to be advised by my company.
DO YOU HAVE ANY USEFUL TIPS OR IDEAS THAT YOU COULD SHARE WITH THE OTHER CAP MEMBERS? – I’d say never ever be afraid to ask for help. As a business owner you are tasked with lots of duties and it doesn’t matter how clever you are you cannot possibly be an expert in all fields and therefore it makes sense to seek out someone that really knows what they are doing in their particular field and take their advice and guidance accordingly.
HOW HAS CAP BUSINESS CLUBS HELPED YOU IN YOUR BUSINESS? – I’d refer back to the point that I have just made about asking for help when you need it. At CAP Buisness Club there are a number of members who are experts in their particular field and therefore you have a ready made resource that you can lean on to help you as and when you need it. Added to that the members are all very supportive of each others businesses and the power of over twenty members acitviely promoting your business along with their own to their contacts is not to be under estimated.
Thank you Jason for spending some time answering these questions - it's greatly appreciated.
“Jason has been my financial advisor for the past 8 years. At that time I had just been through a divorce and needed to ensure that the pension and savings I had would be sufficient for my lifestyle and expectations. He has helped me to invest and plan my future spending with minimum effort and fuss. I have really appreciated his help and advice and I have complete trust in him. My portfolio has grown consistently and Jason has always been reliable and efficient. I’m sure he has a lot of clients with a lot bigger portfolios but he always has time to answer my questions and make feel like an important client.” - From Susie Bishop (lives in Brinkworth)
“I have been advised by Jason Bolton for many years on investments and pensions and throughout that time I have found his advice reliable, sensible and professional. “As CEO of several companies I have always placed great importance on getting professional and solid advice, especially when it comes to choosing a financial adviser. Making the correct decision about the individual or company you choose can be a daunting prospect. Making sure the person who is advising you has the required expertise and a good breadth of knowledge is paramount. My relationship with Jason has been long lasting and I cannot speak highly enough of his qualities, his veracity and professionalism are beyond reproach. His expertise and knowledge of the financial sector is vast and Jason’s ability to understand an individual’s requirements is uncanny. He is a wonderful listener and grasps the situation quickly and the appropriate advice follow with clarity and without procrastination. I have no hesitation in recommending Jason to both small and large companies and to the individual.” - Allan Gardner (CEO of Navajo Leasing Ltd, lives in Surrey)
“Jason provides an excellent service……he has an in-depth knowledge of his field, is proactive and looks after his clients with a healthy dollop of humour and good grace. I have no hesitation in recommending him.” - Gareth Parry (Solicitor of Hopson Solicitors, Cheltenham)
